Ian MacVicar teaches and coaches from a deep wellspring of personal acquaintance with trauma, serious illness, injury, and death. He spent 40 plus years in the Canadian Armed Forces – having some great experiences – and some not so great ones. He now passes on the evidence- based techniques he learned on his path back to physical and mental health. He encourages – and shows – his clients how to “Get Resilient Now!”
Ian has doctorate in intelligence analysis, specializing in the psychological aspects of pattern recognition, attribution errors, and bias mitigation. He complements this knowledge with training in numerous yoga disciplines, such as trauma informed and grief yoga; as well as Co-Active Training Institute (CTI) Coaching Fundamentals and numerous military courses related to performance under stress in remote locations, assisting families of wartime casualties. Ian is a Certified Koru Mindfulness (and meditation) Teacher. Neuroscience is the unifying element of these branches of knowledge, which Ian integrates in his instruction in an accessible manner. Ian brings his Best Self, whether in large group classes, small group mindful meditation instruction, or in one-on-one coaching sessions.
